Whatever A Spider Can has a new reporter – Meet Dante Nelson
By Dante Nelson
Greetings all!
I’m Dante Nelson. I tend to go by Dante Writes though. Or DALANEL (an acronym of my full name). I wanted to introduce myself without seeming like a bragging guy; since I’m not…usually.
Some writing background first, I guess. For one thing, this isn’t my first run with the FanSided Network. I’ve written in three places in the past.
- The Sixer Sense. I’m a huge Philadelphia 76ers fan (I know!). I started off there in June 2011 as a Staff Writer. I was promoted to Editor in 2013 and then bumped back to Staff Writer (aww!).
- Sir Charles In Charge. This is a general NBA news site. I wrote there starting in 2013.
- News Desk. I wrote articles for the “front page” that is FanSided.com.
Ultimately, I left the network in June 2014 (I did the anniversary thing on purpose). Three solid years of experience. If you’re new to FanSided, just trust me when I say this network has come a LONG way for the time I was here. I’m excited to get back into the swing (get it! SPIDER-MAN) of things here at Whatever A Spider Can.
Now, for non-FS experience. My heart and soul of my blogging career rests in my blog site, DALANEL, which strives to bring a positive experience to the world through positive news, inspirational quotes, and more. Daily. I won’t get into all of those details, but I could go on for a long time. I’ve written for a series of other sites that…uh…we’ll just leave them alone since some of them don’t even exist anymore.
I am an author. I don’t talk about it that much. I love writing plays for the thrill of it. The book is Interpretations and Illustrations.
Cool little nugget: I’m a Lighting Designer for my church and even started a lighting crew ministry. I even created a handbook for them so there goes some Technical writing experience right there. Chill; I’m not gonna preach to you, true believers. Just saying I somehow have a life outside of blogging. I always said I would rather write than light a play. Boom.
Let’s wrap this up.
You can expect forced Spidey puns from me. Also, you should know that I had my room painted like NYC by my dad and then I had my sister put up all sorts of images of Spider-Man in various action poses. Spidey protected me as I slept. I still have the comforter set I got for the bed. I’m 23, but you’re never too old, baby! That’s all you need to know about how I feel about the web-slinger. My sisters tend to be annoyed at the fact that I quote rather easily the lines to the first three Spider-Man movies. That’s what happens when you get the DVD set.
To review, I’m a FanSided veteran who loves Spider-Man and even has dreams of being bitten by a radioactive spider. The bones I have broken trying to web across furniture will never stop me. I wish I could insert something clever to end the post.
