By Nick Tylwalk
In case you were wondering if there would be any comics in your Marvel Collector Corps boxes, the answer to that question is “yes.”

At least the first box, which has an Avengers: Age of Ultron theme will have one, and with an exclusive variant cover. Funko and Marvel announced today that the box will include a copy of Guardians Team-Up #1 with a cover drawn by Nick Bradshaw. As you can see below, it emphasizes the Avengers, which is fitting given the theme, but almost to the point where it crowds out whose book this actually is.
One thing I do like: the Avengers pictured are the same as the movie lineup (sans Hulk), but in their current incarnations, meaning Sam Wilson as Captain America and unidentified blonde woman as Thor.
“What better way to kick off the historic launch of Marvel Collector Corps than with the Avengers AND by throwing in the Guardians of the Galaxy for good measure,” Marvel SVP Sales & Marketing David Gabriel said in a press release. “We’re beyond excited to bring this stunning variant cover exclusively to subscribers, uniting the current roster of Avengers with the biggest movie stars of 2014, the Guardians of the Galaxy for an all-new action-packed adventure!”
The other known exclusive for this first box is a 6″ Hulkbuster Iron Man Pop! Vinyl Figure. Subscriptions for the bi-monthly Marvel Collector Corps service start at $25 per shipment, and more information is available at www.collectorcorps.com.
