Well we all know that originally, Captain America 3: Civil War & Batman v. Superman were set to open against each other. But then Warner Bros. blinked and moved to an earlier date of March 26th. Clearly they did not really want to test Marvel vs. DC in terms of audience. But maybe there is another reason. Dorkly points out that if you look at the elements of both Civil War & Batman v. Superman, they are pretty much the same damn movie.

Both movies feature human billionaires mostly reliant on their technology (and slightly fascist leanings) at least temporarily at odds with nearly god-like beings (yeah Captain America isn’t Superman, but he has abilities far beyond any normal human) who dress and red and blue and symbolize the ideals of America. I especially like how they point out that Marvel has spent many movies properly building to this point and DC is just starting off there, which I’ve always thought is a poor strategy. We’ll see how similar the movies are when both Captain America: Civil War & Batman v. Superman release in the first half of 2016.
