Amazing Spider-Man’s Dane DeHaan doesn’t act to win awards

Dane DeHaan was the Amazing Spider-Man franchise’s Green Goblin, now his future as a Spider-Man film actor is up in the air with Marvel and Sony looking to reboot the series (I think it’s pretty much a given that all of the Amazing Spider-Man actors and actresses are out)
However the actor has recently come out and stated that he has no interest in winning any of the coveted acting awards like the Oscars or BAFTAs because that’s not why he acts in the first place. Although if he did want to win awards it’s probably a good job he’s potentially out of the Spider-Man franchise because that wasn’t going to net him any statues or gongs any time soon (even though his performance was pretty much spot-on in Amazing Spider-Man 2)
DeHaan made the comments in an interview with the Hindustan Times. The young actor was asked if such recognitions as his BAFTA nomination pressurise him to make a mark in the industry and the Green Goblin replied,
"I don’t act to win awards. I act because I love to. And I want to keep growing and that’s one thing that is exciting about acting."
DeHaan also stated that it’s unlikely he’ll be acting on television any time soon having not appeared on the box in over a year, and he hopes to not be type-cast as a villain because he wants to play all different kinds of roles. Click the link above to check out the full interview!
It’s unclear as of yet whether or not he wants to be Marvel’s Spider-Man (probably not though)
