Hunger Games’ Josh Hutcherson still wants to play Spider-Man

Another actor has thrown their name into the proverbial Spider-Man hat and this one’s pretty big! It’s none other than the Hunger Game franchise’s Josh Hutcherson who most people will recognise as semi-heart-throb Peeta Mellark (He’s no Gale is he?) alongside Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss Everdeen

Hutcherson was in the running for Spider-Man five years ago but lost out to Andrew Garfield, he then want on to star in the literary adaption of The Hunger Games books. But Hutcherson is quite clearly not content with being in one huge Hollywood franchise and wants more, stating in an interview with Yahoo! that he’s still interested in the Web-Swinger!

"Yeah, of course I’d think about doing it: It’s Spider-Man, that’d be really cool. There’s not been any conversations about that, but who knows what would happen?"

Of course the only concrete indication of who will be the next Spider-Man so far is the rampant speculation of expectant people eagerly awaiting exactly what Marvel want to do with their newly acquired superhero. There’s already a debate about whether or not he’ll be black, or even Peter Parker so it’s all up in the air at the moment!

Other front-runners for Spider-Man currently include Community’s Donald Glover and Dylan O’Brien and Logan Lerman. Would you like to see Josh Hutcherson as Spider-Man, or perhaps one of the three I’ve just mentioned, or someone else entirely?
