Super-Returns: Former Superman, Supergirl Cast In New Supergirl
By Nick Tylwalk
You’ve got to love the fact that Warner Bros. and DC never forget their own. The Flash has former TV Fastest Man Alive John Wesley Shipp in a recurring role, with Mark Hamill on the way. Now there’s word that both a former Superman and Supergirl will appear on CBS’ Supergirl as well.

According to TVLine, both Dean Cain and Helen Slater are joining the Supergirl cast in unrevealed roles. though speculation has focused on them portraying the adopted Earth parents of Kara Zor-El. It’d be a nice nod to Slater’s previous turn as Supergirl in the 1984 film of the same name, as well as Cain’s time playing Clark Kent/Superman on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
The series is rounding into shape nicely now, with the lead (Melissa Benoist), some supporting characters and some villains all cast. One big question remains, though: with Greg Berlanti as co-creator, Andrew Kreisberg writing and both men serving as executive producers, will the CBS show be involved in crossovers with Arrow and The Flash? Stay tuned on that one, but don’t be surprised to see more links to other DC TV projects before it’s all said and done.
