Drew Goddard signed on to write and direct Marvel’s new Spider-Man film

Remember when Marvel and Sony first made the Spider-Man deal and everyone was all like “But what about Drew Goddard and the Sinister Six spin-off film he’s attached to?” Well those concerned people will be happy today there’s news on both the Sinister Six film, and some really exciting news for Drew Goddard.
The Cabin in the Woods director has been signed on by Marvel to write and direct the new Spider-Man film that we can expect in 2017. This means that Marvel’s Spidey flick is already in motion. The news comes courtesy of Latino Review who are pretty confident with their source!

So there you have it! The article also mentions a tentative working title in ‘Spectacular Spider-Man’ and states that all of Sony’s side Spider-Man projects such as the Sinister Six, the all-female film and even the Aunt May film (which was reportedly real) are scrapped so that Marvel can go ahead with their own plans.
