Drew Goddard denies Marvel’s Spider-Man film involvement

The Latino Review posted a Spider-Man scoop offering several details about Marvel’s Spider-Man film including the potential title, an Iron Man appearance, Sinister Six being involved, a future trilogy, that Sony’s spin-offs were scrapped and finally that Drew Goddard was attached as the writer and director.

Goddard hasn’t met on the title yet

There was a lot of information and it all seemed as legitimate as leaked information from someone called Senor Fenix can be. Obviously the whole thing needed a few small pinches of salt. But perhaps we all should’ve been bathing in salt until it fused with our skin because it might be that all of this info is entirely erroneous!

Comicbookresources reached out to Drew Goddard’s people who gave a short, curt reply merely saying Goddard ‘hasn’t met on the title yet’. Now I’m fairly high on the contract negotiators at Marvel, but even I have to doubt their ability to sign on a director and writer for one of their biggest films without even meeting them! But who knows hey?

And just like that one brick is taken away from the truth tower and the whole thing comes tumbling down. Maybe, just maybe Marvel aren’t looking to cast an unknown actor and Dylan O’Brien will in fact be Spider-Man. Oh what a tangled web we weave when there are literally loads of rumours that could deceive.
