Chris Chalk Joins Gotham Cast As One Of Batman’s Staunchest Allies
By Nick Tylwalk
Much of the focus on Gotham has been on the formative years of Batman’s most famous villains, but his supporters are well-represented as well. Along with leading man Jim Gordon, we’ve already met Alfred, Leslie Thompkins and Harvey Dent. Hey, he at least starts out on the side of the good guys. Now, another important Batman ally has been cast, just in time for him to show up right before the end of Season 1.

Deadline is reporting that Chris Chalk has signed on to play Lucius Fox, making his first appearance in the second-to-last episode of the first season of Gotham. Longtime fans will know Fox as the man who Bruce Wayne entrusts to lead Wayne Enterprises, while newer fans will remember him as the “I don’t know what you’re up to, *wink, wink*” guy portrayed by Morgan Freeman in the Dark Knight films.
Chalk has already had roles in a number of notable TV series, including The Newsroom, Homeland and Justified. It sounds like his Fox will fit into the Fox series (sorry …) in much the same way as you’d expect, as Deadline describes him this way:
"His desire to help Bruce uphold Thomas Wayne’s legacy eventually will earn him a spot as one of the boy’s most important confidants."
If the TV Bruce Wayne is fated to end up with cool stuff like a Batmobile and other gadgets, Chalk could be the man who helps make them a reality. We’re anxious to see him in stretch run to Gotham‘s freshman campaign.
