Arrow and The Flash still have some thrills left in store for us before the current TV season is over, but now we know when those surprises will be coming to an end.

The CW announced the finale dates for both super hero shows this week, along with all of its current dramas. Arrow will wrap up first, bringing its third season to a close on Wednesday, May 13. The Flash will run for another week, closing out Season 1 on Tuesday, May 19.
It wouldn’t be surprising to see both shows end with major cliffhangers, considering they’ve already been renewed for next fall. The Flash is The CW’s highest rated show, averaging almost four million viewers per episode and a 1.48 in the 18-49 demographic. Arrow is not that far behind at 2.85 million viewers and a 1.05 rating in the demo, but more importantly, both numbers are up from its second season.
The most interesting thing to watch for next year is if the shows will be joined by even more of their super hero brethren. Buzz has been swirling around a team-up show that would combine characters from both series as well as three DC characters never seen on TV before, and while the proposed series wouldn’t be ready for next season, its pilot could be done in time for it to make a midseason debut, perhaps early in 2016.
