Gotham: Cameron Monaghan Talks Jerome

facebooktwitterreddit

Recently on Gotham, we either got our first look at a very young future Joker, or the biggest red herring the shown has thrown at us to date. Jerome, a character from episode 16 titled “The Blind Fortune Teller” murdered his mother in cold blood and laughed about it in a very Joker-esque fashion. Nobody seems willing to confirm 100% that Jerome, the role played by actor Cameron Monaghan, is actually the future Joker, but that doesn’t mean it’s the last time we’ll see Jerome either according to a recent interview with CBR.

"When I was on set, we discussed the possibly of me coming back in the second or third season. Nothing is set in stone yet. I think the producers have a firm plan for what they want to do, but I was not privy to it while I was filming. I would love to come back and do some more."

Cameron Monaghan also talked about practicing that chilling laugh:

"I’m surprised my neighbors didn’t call the cops on me because I spent those weeks constantly laughing and staring at myself in the mirror. Even if I was driving in my car to get food or something, I was repeating the monologue. I allowed myself to be a crazy person."

Read the full interview with Cameron Monaghan the link provided, where he talks about his inspiration for Jerome (assuming the character is in fact, the Joker) and his other projects. Will we see Jerome on Gotham again? Keep watching to find out!
