Stephen Amell has been pretty adamant about wanting Arrow to crossover with Batman in some form. At a recent comic covention, Amell said Batman would be his opponent of choice.

Of course some would say Arrow already borrows a fair amount from Batman. In addition to being quite similar in tone to Batman, one of the major villains in the TV show Arrow is one of Batman’s greatest foes, Ra’s Al Ghul. When asked about “borrowing” Ra’s Al Ghul, Stephen Amell feels they should be free to use great source material from any part of the DC universe.

"I understand that there’s a bit of a crossover into the Batman mythos. But I think that our show has earned the right to do what we think is the most interesting story."

WB’s odd arbitrary reluctance to have Arrow (and for that matter Flash) connected to the larger DC universe just makes no sense to me. If Ben Affleck is considered too big for the show, considering he’s an older Batman, you could easily claim that Arrow/Flash take place in an earlier time period and have someone else be Bruce Wayne/Batman for that time period and have him show up on any number of DC shows since a number are on the air and/or in development. Seems like an easy solution to for lots of cool opportunities for the shows without compromising your big movie plans. Check out the interview with Stephen Amell below:
