Which Secret Wars titles will have Spider-Man in?

So, Marvel’s Secret Wars year-long event is just around the corner and everything in their comic book world is going to change forever. But that’s not what we’re really excited about, no! We’re Spider-Man fans all we want to know is where we can find Spider-Man kicking some bad-guy behind! So here’s a slightly comprehensive list courtesy of Reddit letting us know everywhere that Spider-Man will, and should pop up during Secret Wars!

* Secret Wars #0-8 (616 Peter and Miles are featured on covers, possibly other alternate universe Spideys)
* (The Last Days of) Captain America and the Mighty Avengers #7-8 (616 Peter)
* Ultimate End #1-5 (Miles and other Ultimate Spider-People)
* Secret Wars 2099 #1-5 (Miguel)
* Spider-Verse (Multiple universe Spider-People)
* Giant Size Little Marvel (Baby Spider-Man)
* Armor Wars (Alternate universe Iron Spidey)
* Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows (Married Spider-Man)
* Spider-Island
* The All-New, All-Different Avengers (Miles Morales)

So, as you can see there are quite a few titles that will feature the Webhead, and that’s not including the spin-offs Silk, Spider-Gwen, or Spider-Woman that seem to be continuing outside of Secret Wars continuity, much like Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man did during Spider-Verse.

Secret Wars #0-8

Secret Wars is the main title for Marvel’s next big event, starting with a Free Comic Book Day issue, ‘Secret Wars #0’ and ending with Secret Wars #8. Considering it’s the main book for the storyline it’s going to feature almost every Marvel superhero from the 616 and Ultimate universe in one way or another. That of course means that both Peter Parker, Amazing Spider-Man, and Miles Morales, Ultimate Spider-Man are going to feature (they’re on the front cover after all!) However it also means that maybe other Spider-Men and Women might appear as well.

As Secret Wars is an ensemble comic there’s no indication what part Spider-Man will play. Although given Marvel’s recent acquisition of Spider-Man in their cinematic universe I’d imagine that they’d manouvre Spidey to be a major player in their comic books!

(The Last Days of) Captain America and the Mighty Avengers #7-8

This is a bit of a tenuous link as this is ultimately a Captain America and Avengers book. However Spider-Man is part of the Avengers so will undoubtedly appear, but it’s unlikely he’s going to be at the centre of the action, or at the crux of the narrative.

He is on the front cover though, so who knows what Spidey will get up to during the 616 universe’s last days.

Ultimate End #1-5

As this is the end of the Ultimate Universe it stands to reason that we’ll be seeing the Ultimate Universe’s most successful character Ultimate Spider-Man: Miles Morales a lot! We’ll also be seeing Ultimate Spider-Woman/Ultimate Black Widow or whatever she chooses to call herself by the time that this title comes around.

We’ll be seeing the end of the Ultimate Universe and which characters will make the transition. For example will Ganke, Katie Bishop or Mile’s Dad make it? I sure hope that Mile’s Dad and Ganke do, Katie I don’t care as much for! It looks like Miles is going to a be a big deal during the Secret Wars so hopefully his supporting cast pull through as well!

Secret Wars 2099 #1-5

Whilst Secret Wars 2099 seems to be about the futuristic Avengers from the year 2099 there simply has to be an appearance from Miguel O’Hara, that year’s Spider-Man 2099. After all, this title is following on immediately after Spider-Man 2099 finishes so surely he’ll be in it, right?

I have my fingers crossed that Miguel finally gets to explore some of his own storyline that was established in the first few issues of his title before Spider-Verse got in the way. For example what’s going on with Tempest, his appartment Super? Did he get her a cure for her illness. Are we even supposed to care about her anymore?

Spider-Verse #1-5

Unfortunately this title won’t have any Spider-People in it. It’s merely a follow-up of the Spider-Verse storyline where we can see the Inheritors learning to survive on their new heavily radiated planet. Okay, I’m quite clearly kidding this title will be chock-full of Spider-Men and Spider-Women.

The first issue will feature Spider-Gwen, Spider-Ham, Spider-Man India, Spider-UK, Spider-Man Noir, Mayday Parker, and plain-old Spider-Man. It seems to be focussed on the crazy adventures of Anya Corazon and Spider-UK as they police the Web of Life with the Master Weaver (Karn) at the centre of it. If you liked the Spider-Verse you’ll like this, ’nuff said.

Giant Size Little Marvel

Baby Versions of popular Marvel characters in an Avengers Vs X-Men rehash. What more could you possibly want to see? A baby Spider-Man? Well, you’re going to get a baby Spider-Man.

There’s nothing new with the Avengers facing off against the X-Men, in fact the two superhero teams recently came to blows in the Axis storyline. So yeah, it’s happening again!

Armor Wars

As you can see from the cover several different versions of Iron Man are coming together to seemingly fight each other. So once again, this title is going to be about another character but Spider-Man is going to crop up!

Why is Spidey going to crop up? Well, he was once given a suit by Tony Stark during the Civil War that is referred to as the Iron Spider suit, which is a Spider version of an Iron Man suit. So obviously he’s going to show up during Armor Wars.

Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows

Can you remember that time that Peter Parker and Mary Jane got happily married and then had a kid and then for no reason at all Peter made a deal with the devil to redact his marriage, undo his happiness and bring his Aunt May back to life, meaning that he was left with no memory of what had happened. It resulted in Spider-Fans being absolutely outraged.

Remember how Dan Slott has been on a bit of a downward spiral with the Amazing Spider-Man series, seemingly giving everyone else more of the spotlight than the titular Peter Parker. Something that the Spider-Verse’s many Spider-Characters highlighted.

Well, Marvel are attempting to kill two birds with one stone by remarrying Peter to MJ in the Amazing Spider-Man series. Hooray! Oh, and Venom is going to be in it as a villain.

Spider-Island

Contrary to popular belief arising from the front cover, Spider-Island isn’t just an excuse to bring in a ridiculously proportioned, voluptuous, stocking toting Spider-MJ into the mixture of assorted Spider-Females. But, if you’re into that kind of thing, ridiculously proportioned, voluptuous Spider-MJ is a plus!

If however you like your female comic book characters fairly light in the sexual ojectification then maybe Flash Thompson’s Agent Venom will wet your whistle, or the return of Spider-Queen. On top of that Mayday Parker gets her own back-of-issue sub-story because that’s exactly what the fans want!

The All-New, All-Different Avengers

Okay, so this isn’t strictly a Secret Wars title but it’s been announced and the marketing is out there milling around. As the title suggests we’re going to get an all-new, all-different Avengers featuring Ms. Marvel, Nova, All-New Captain America, Thor (new Thor), Vision and Iron Man.

But for those of you needing a big dose of Spider-Man goodness, it features Miles Morales, the Ultimate Universe Spider-Man (who I guess suddenly becomes the second 616 Spider-Man once universes collided).

The first issue is available on Free Comic Book Day
