Ever since the introduction of Matt Murdock’s black ninja-like Frank Miller-esque proto-Daredevil suit, a small population of the fanbase have been concerned that we may never see the Man Without Fear in his iconic crimson suit. To quickly quell some of these worries, a motion poster was released showing a vague reference to his eventual attire.
Today, Daredevil’s inevitable wardrobe change was revealed to the world in the latest motion poster:
As you can see, the suit pretty much still adheres to the realism feel of Steven S. DeKnight’s vision. Various armor plates seem to attach to a flexible protective undergarment, much like the second iteration of the Batsuit in The Dark Knight (2008). What do you think? Do you like how the crimson suit turned out?
Netflix’s Daredevil is being executive produced by series showrunner Steven S. DeKnight, Drew Goddard, and Jeph Loeb, and will star Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil, Elden Henson as Franklin “Foggie” Nelson, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / The Kingpin, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Marianna.
Daredevil will be one of four Marvel/Netflix shows centered around events taking place in Hell’s Kitchen. The other three will be Luke Cage (with Mike Colter recently announced to be in the title role), Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones (with Krysten Ritter recently announced to be in the title role). Like the cinematic universe, all four characters from each show will later converge together in a miniseries event called The Defenders — another superhero team akin to The Avengers.
Daredevil is set to premiere on Netflix this Friday, April 10, 2015.
