Spidey pummels Green Goblin in alternate end to Amazing Spider-Man 2

I thought the ending to Amazing Spider-Man 2 was quite good with Peter Parker caught between trying to save Gwen Stacey and trying to fend off the Green Goblin which eventually leads to Gwen Stacy’s death!
However details of an alternate ending have been revealed by set photographer Niko Tavernise who recently published shots of the alternate battle between Spider-Man and Green Goblin on Instagram.
The shots revealed an unmasked Spider-Man looming over a downed Green Goblin with a part of the villain’s glider raised above his head, Spider-Man standing amidst the clock tower cogs and a battered and broken Dane DeHaan as the Green Goblin. It looks like the first one has been removed, but you can check out the other two below.
The premise of the alternate scene is that Gwen Stacy falls and dies and as Peter is cradling her in his arms the Green Goblin laughs maniacally causing Spider-Man to beat Green Goblin down and pummel him with both fists and the villain’s own glider to within an inch of his life.
