Last week, Gotham gave us its twentieth episode, Under the Knife, where we finally met the notorious Wayne Enterprises executive Sid Bunderslaw. Now that Bruce has a copy of his key, Bunderslaw’s secrets may soon be revealed to us in this week’s episode.
Skipping over to James Gordon and Harvey Bullock, the two are still chasing after Jason Lennon, a.k.a. The Ogre. However, there’s now a big wrinkle in their pursuit. Jason has Barbara. The worst part is she willingly went with him. Her reaction to his room of torture was moreso fascination than horror and fear. Has Jason finally found his “true love”? What will he do to keep her?
In the underworld side of things, Oswald Cobblepot is ready to deal with Maroni head-on. All gloves are now off after Maroni involved Oswald’s mother, Gertrud. We may witness Penguin’s rise to power in the final two episodes of this season.
Not to let everyone have all the fun, Edward Nygma gave us a glimpse of his very dark side when he murdered the bullying Tom Dougherty. His mixed reaction of shock and glee has seemingly opened up a new world for Nygma. Now that this obstacle is out of the way, will the “Riddle Man” have a chance with Ms. Kringle?
Here’s the official synopsis for The Anvil or the Hammer:
"The Ogre breaks down Barbara’s emotions, while Gordon and Bullock go to great lengths to track him down. Meanwhile, Penguin leads a massacre, beginning an epic war, while Bruce learns the truth about Wayne Enterprises and Nygma deals with his recent actions in the all-new “The Anvil or the Hammer” episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, April 27 (8:00-9:00 ET/PT) on FOX. (GTH-121) (TV-14 D, L, V)"
And, of course, the exciting trailer for the episode:
Enjoy this week’s new episode, and check back with us on Tuesday morning for our full recap and review.
Fox’s Gotham airs on Mondays at 8:00PM EST.
