Sideshow Collectibles Age Of Ultron War Machine Maquette Looks Awesome
By Nick Tylwalk
Lest we forget since there are so many other super heroes involved, James Rhodes is busting out the War Machine armor in Avengers: Age of Ultron too. Sideshow Collectibles looks primed to make sure we don’t forget with this awesome looking War Machine Maquette, which is available for pre-order now.
The pose is based directly on the Iron Patriot piece Sideshow did a while back, but the look is coming straight from the new movie. The finish is done by hand, and those lights in his chestpiece and eyes aren’t just for effect: they really do light up.
Including the base that features the head and arm of a defeated Ultron drone, the War Machine Maquette stands an impressive 22.5 inches tall and weighs in at 18 pounds. He’s limited to a run of just 750 pieces and only available one per customer — though at a price of $499.99, you’d have to be quite the Rhodey fan but have Tony Stark’s deep pockets to order multiples anyway.
The only downside? War Machine isn’t expected to ship until the second quarter of 2016. That’s a long time to wait, but if this maquette turns out as sweet in real life as it looks in these images, it’ll be worth it.
