X-Men: Apocalypse – James McAvoy Goes Bald
By Steve Lam
Director Bryan Singer has shared an Instagram image of James McAvoy, who started playing Professor Charles Xavier in X-Men: First Class (2011), donning the mutant leader’s famous hairstyle … or lack thereof.
Yep, it’s happening. Ever since McAvoy started playing Professor X, a role first played by veteran thespian Patrick Stewart in X-Men (2000), fans have been asking when the actor will physically morph into the character’s more familiar visage. It seems that the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse will be officially christening in the follically challenged era for our favorite telepath.
For the last few weeks director Bryan Singer and writer Simon Kinberg have been sharing some sneak peeks of the cast which have included first looks at Jean Grey, Jubilee, and Kurt Wagner, a.k.a. Nightcrawler.
X-Men: Apocalypse has a planned release date of May 27, 2016 and will be directed by Bryan Singer and written by Simon Kinberg, Dan Harris, and Michael Dougherty, and will star James McAvoy as Charles Xavier / Professor X, Michael Fassbender and Ian McKellan as Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Raven Darkhölme, Nicholas Hout as Hank McCoy / Beast, Evan Peters as Peter Maximoff / Quicksilver, Oscar Isaac as En Sabah Nur / Apocalypse, Alexandra Shipp as Ororo Munroe / Storm, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan as Scott Summers / Cyclops, Rose Burne as Moira MacTaggert, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Kurt Wagner / Nightcrawler, Lana Condor as Jubilation Lee, Ben Hardy as Warren Worthington III / Angel, Olivia Munn as Betsy Braddock / Psylocke, and Lucas Till as Alex Summers / Havok.
