The Flash Synopsis – Season 1, Episode 22: Rogue Air

Even though the Flash was able to fend off the very serious threat of Grodd last week with the help of his friends Cisco Ramon and Caitlin Snow (and okay, Iris West too), that confrontation helped to underscore how dependent the team was on the brains and advice of Harrison Wells. Unfortunately, they aren’t ever going to be getting his assistance again, now that his true identity as Eobard Thawne, the Reverse-Flash, is no longer a secret.

With only one episode left until the season finale, Reverse-Flash isn’t going to stop making life difficult for Barry Allen and his pals. That could put pressure on him to seek out help in places he normally wouldn’t: like from the leader of the Rogues, Captain Cold.

That might not be the wisest plan of action, but desperate times, right? Let’s see what the official synopsis for “Rogue Air,” this week’s new episode of The Flash, has to say on that score.

"As Wells (Tom Cavanagh) once again gets the upper hand on the S.T.A.R. Labs team, Barry (Grant Gustin) is going to realize he needs to make a big move and reaches out to an old foe, Captain Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller), for help.Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) will warn Barry that Cold can’t be trusted. True to form, Cold will have his own agenda that involves the meta-humans trapped in the containment cells. As things seem to be going from bad to worse, The Flash will get reinforcements – Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell) and Firestorm (guest star Robbie Amell)."

Amell brothers, unite! I’m curious to see how they explain Oliver Queen showing up in Central City to lend a hand since he’s extremely busy trying to outwit Ra’s al Ghul, and since we’ve also seen that the Flash will make some kind of appearance in the Arrow finale, this could get exciting in a confusing sort of way.

I just wonder if there isn’t something bad that’s going to happen to Firestorm, since Victor Garber has hinted that there was a reason only he is going to be in Legends of Tomorrow next season. That would be a shame for Caitlin if she lost Ronnie Raymond and got him back only to lose him again.

No sense worrying about that before it happens. All I know is that the Flash plus the Rogues plus all the villains in the Pipeline plus Firestorm and Arrow helping face off against Reverse-Flash is bound to be a dynamite hour of super hero television. Make sure you don’t miss it Tuesday night at 8 pm on The CW, and be back here about 20-30 minutes after it’s over for our full recap and review.

And while we always suggest that you check out The Flash After Show on theStream.tv, there’s an extra special reason to see it live this week. Hosts Dylan Landon, Devon Stewart, Lauren Mayhew and Jack Hind are going to be joined by Doug Jones, who plays Deathbolt on both Arrow and The Flash. Want to ask him a question and get it answered live on the air? Tweet it with the hashtag #TheFlashAS and you’ll be in the running.
