TNT president Kevin Reilly talked with TV Line about the Titans show based on the comic book property Teen Titans that is due to start production soon.

Titans will follow Dick Grayson as Robin (who will eventually become Nightwing) leading a team theat will include Barbara Gordon, Hawk and Dove, Raven and Starfire. Reilly told TV Line that they hope to finalize casting and start production on the show sometime this summer.
"I sat down with Akiva (Oscar winner Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind), who penned the pilot with Marc Haimes) and said — and he ultimately agreed — that the [TV] landscape right now is well-serviced on the superhero front. So what space is this going to inhabit?. And really what he wants to do is be very true (to the source material)."
"There were consequences to things that happened; it wasn’t somebody died and they moved on. There was the first superhero to be an addict [in Roy Harper’s Speedy]. It’s a coming-of-age story for Robin, who feels like Batman has betrayed him. I think it’s going to end up being a very, very interesting offering. I think it’s going to be excellent."
Sounds like an interesting take. I hope if they really go with Robin feeling betrayed by Batman, that Batman makes an appearance of some sort. It doesn’t have to be Ben Affleck, he’s an older, much more world-weary Batman. Titans will hopefully start production this Summer and hopefully we’ll see it on TNT not too long after that.
