There is only Secret Wars! That’s not entirely true, of course, as the Marvel booth showed off a number of different comics, movies and shows. But this year’s huge event was front and center on the stage, which was the focal point for a number of different activities throughout the show’s first two days. ACBC was probably the place to be if you wanted to catch some Marvel talent for signings, as the lines were much shorter than, say, New York Comic Con. The company also did a full slate of panels throughout the con.

If you couldn’t find the exclusive or variant you were looking for at the Aspen booth, you weren’t trying very hard. Perhaps the most accessible publisher at ACBC, multiple members of the Aspen team were manning the booth at all times. The lone exception was during the company’s panel on Saturday, where the crew earned major props from this blogger for going all out even though only about 10 people showed up for it.

Boom! Studios, as it usually does, had a large booth that caught your eye immediately. One of the highlights was plenty of books with blank covers and creators willing to do sketches on the spot to make them unique (for a fee of course, but still). If I had my daughter with me, I would have been shelling out for an Adventure Time sketch cover for sure.

The people working the Valiant booth were hustling to promote all the cool stuff they have coming out and were only too happy to help explain some of their characters to anyone who wasn’t already familiar. Valiant also had a 25th anniversary celebration panel on Saturday afternoon.

Compare this shot of the floor entrance to the one that started off this post, and you’ll see that there were a lot more people at ACBC on Saturday afternoon than Friday. It was a fun show, definitely worthy of becoming a fixture on the East Coast in the years to come.
