The Flash Synopsis – Season 1 Finale: Fast Enough
By Nick Tylwalk
Typically, a show that has a “Big Bad” waits until the season finale to deal with him or her. The Flash took a slightly different approach, as Barry Allen got some help from his friends Oliver Queen and Firestorm and managed to defeat the Reverse-Flash in the penultimate episode.

So that’s it, right? Not quite. Even with Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne in custody, there’s still a very big unanswered question left for “Fast Enough”: can Barry go back in time to prevent the death of his mother at the hands of Reverse-Flash?
Wells has spent a big chunk of Season 1 trying to get Barry to go faster for his own ends; namely, so that he could return to the future from which he came. The Flash can certainly break the time barrier, as he’s already learned. He’s also learned the hard way that there are unexpected consequences to messing with the time stream, so even if he can save his mom, he’ll still have to grapple with whether he should.
He won’t have to wrestle with this dilemma alone, thanks to the support of Cisco Ramon, Caitlin Snow, Joe West and Iris West. Plus a certain flame-headed super hero is returning as well, as you can see in the official synopsis of “Fast Enough” from The CW.
"Wells (Tom Cavanagh) presents Barry (Grant Gustin) with a life-changing choice. Dr. Martin Stein (guest star Victor Garber) and Ronnie Raymond (guest star Robbie Amell) return to help the S.T.A.R. Labs team with this final fight. Dermott Downs directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Gabrielle Stanton & Andrew Kreisberg (#123)."
Something else to watch for in the season finale is an appearance by some of the heroes from the upcoming spinoff DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Look for Ciara Renee’s Hawkgirl to make her debut, and since time travel is likely to be involved, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Rip Hunter drop in either.
It’s been a great run (pun definitely intended) for what this writer believes is the best super hero show on TV. The producers and writers have earned enough of my trust to make me think they have something special in store for Tuesday night at 8 pm on The CW. We’ll have our recap and review up around 20 minutes after the East Coast broadcast right before we sink into a deep funk about not having any new episodes all summer.
(Just kidding. Sort of.)
And while we say this all the time, you absolutely, positively won’t want to miss The Flash After Show from theStream.tv. Hosts Dylan Landon, Devon Stewart, Lauren Mayhew, and Jack Hind are sure to go all out for the season finale, and you can participate with the hashtag #TheFlashAS.
