The initial encounter with a teamed up Ultron, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch proves to be a devastating blow to the Avengers. Knowing that they won’t be safe unless they’re off the grid, Hawkeye takes the defeated heroes to the most secure place on Earth: his countryside home.
It’s here that we discover Hawkeye’s secret life — a wife and two kids with a third on the way. The only other people who knew about this were Nick Fury, who helped Clint Barton set this up, and Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow, who Barton’s children endearingly call “Aunt Nat.”
