Nick Fury Arrives with a Beacon of Hope
With time running out and the destruction radius becoming larger, the Avengers are faced with destroying the city — and killing its occupants — in order to save the world. Not knowing what to do, Captain America and Black Widow peer out into the sky and admire the view, contemplating a suicide mission to not leave and attempting to save everyone in the city.
Suddenly, a familiar voice crackles into their earpieces. Nick Fury announces his arrival and the Helicarrier rises from the clouds. As rescue crafts are dispatched, Quicksilver asks Captain America, “This is SHIELD?” Captain America answers, “This is what SHIELD’s supposed to be.”
