Cosplayers, please take note: just because you dress up like Spider-Man doesn’t mean you are Spider-Man.
Most people who put on a costume know this quite well. No radioactive spider bite = no special powers. And when you’re trying some fancy acrobatics, you might feel it if you don’t have the proportional strength and agility of an arachnid.
One man in Argentina did not get the memo. As you can see in the video below, he starts off okay, impressing some children with his array of flips and wall-bouncing techniques. Unfortunately, it goes wrong quickly, and the faux Spider-Man ends up unconscious.
Maybe comic books need to come with disclaimers like the WWE uses urging people not to try what you see at home. Or maybe the lesson about great power and great responsibility needs to be expanded to include the responsibility to yourself when you don’t have great power.
Take a look and decide for yourself.
