Gotham: The Complete First Season On Blu-Ray, DVD September 8
By Nick Tylwalk
In case you need a hard copy of the initial exploration of the pre-Batman Gotham City, we’ve got some good news for you. Gotham: The Complete First Season is due out on Blu-ray and DVD on September 8.
As the name suggests, you get all 22 Season 1 episodes on either four Blu-ray discs (suggested retail price $60.10) or six DVDs (SRP $59.98). That’s 967 minutes of watching Jim Gordon in his uphill battle against organized crime and future Batman villains.
“We are thrilled to release Gotham: The Complete First Season on Blu-ray and DVD for fans to explore the unique origin story of Gotham and its characters,” Rosemary Markson, WBHEG Senior Vice President, Television Marketing, said in a press release. “With this release, fans will be able to get acquainted with the early chapters of their favorite Super Hero prior to the premiere of season two.”
The box sets also include a host of special features, including seven character profiles on everyone from Harvey Bullock to Fish Mooney to Dr. Leslie Thompkins, deleted scenes, a gag reel, multiple featurettes and DC Comics Night at Comic-Con 2014, where Gotham was shown off alongside The Flash, Constantine and Arrow
That September 8 release date couldn’t come at a better time, either, as Season 2 should be kicking off right around then as well. While we don’t endorse any particular retailer here at Bam Smack Pow, it’s worth pointing out that you can pre-order the Blu-ray edition of Gotham: The Complete First Season at Amazon for $44.96.
Definitely something to think about now that you know when you’ll be able to unwrap it.
