See New Iron Man, More In All-New, All-Different Marvel Teaser

Marvel has already announced that comic shop patrons will get the first peek at the titles and creative teams coming after Secret Wars. Yet it seems the company just can’t help but do the teaser thing, which explains why it floated the image above on social media earlier today.

Iron Man is front and center in a new suit of armor, which hardly qualifies as news. The big mystery is who’s inside the suit, since the Free Comic Book Day Avengers issue gave one the impression that it’s not Tony Stark. Obviously, though, Iron Man is going to be a big part of whatever comes next.

Here are a few other quick takeaways:

  • Secret Wars won’t just serve as a magic reset button

However the event ends, it won’t undo a bunch of changes that occurred in the months before it started. Sam Wilson is still Captain America, and Steve Rogers is still old. Jane Foster is going to continue on as Thor. Those are good things, because those characters didn’t get enough time to really go through more than one arc apiece. I’m assuming both Cap and Thor will have their own solo books, and we know they are in the Avengers as well.

  • Movie and TV characters will continue to be in the spotlight

The Ant-Man movie will be out by the time this starts, but if it does well, you can expect Marvel to keep him in a prominent position. Ditto for Black Panther, who will feature in Captain America: Civil War next spring. Phil Coulson is on TV, of course, and Ms. Marvel might be too, if the rumors are correct.

  • Some of the other Spider-Man characters are sticking around

We know Miles Morales is joining the Avengers, and Spider-Gwen was a popular creation during Spider-Verse. Jessica Drew is in this image as well. Solo series for all of them? I wouldn’t bet against it.

The one thing I can’t quite figure is the guy with the bow. Is that a Native American take on Hawkeye, or … what, exactly? My guess is he’s the star of a series set on Battleworld, since Marvel has already revealed the planet will outlive Secret Wars, but I’m prepared for that guy to be just about anything.

The answers are supposed to be coming in All-New, All-Different Marvel Previews on July 1, but you get the feeling we’ll be seeing more teasers before then.
