Spider-Man voice actor causes Caitlyn Jenner controversy
By Daniel Wood
Spider-Man as a character is certainly no stranger to the odd witty quip at the expense of his extensive rogue gallery, but animated Spider-Man voice actor Drake Bell may have crossed the line with his latest Twitter quip relating to the former athlete Bruce Jenner who now identifies as Caitlyn.
As you can see, Bell is having some trouble accepting Bruce Jenner’s brave move to appear on the front cover of Vanity Fair magazine following his choice to become a woman. As the cover announces, she is now called Caitlyn Jenner. Understandably Bell came under fire for the above tweet and eventually deleted it. However, not knowing when to quit, he followed up with several more tweets.
"Good thing social media has no effect on real life— Drake Bell (@DrakeBell) June 1, 2015I’m not dissing him! I just don’t want to forget his legacy! He is the greatest athlete of all time! Chill out!— Drake Bell (@DrakeBell) June 1, 2015Calm down children.— Drake Bell (@DrakeBell) June 1, 2015"
