See Awesome Nike iD Super Hero Shoes
By Nick Tylwalk
If you’ve never messed around with the Nike iD service before, you’re missing out. It allows you to customize a wide range of Nike shoes, choosing the exact colors of everything from the soles to the laces, often giving you a choice of materials for different parts of the shoes as well. It’s expensive to get your own personalized kicks that way, but many people would argue that the freedom of expression is worth the extra cost, and even just messing around with the design software online can be fun.
As you might expect, more than one comic book and super hero fan has used Nike iD to pay tribute to his or her favorite costumed character, picking color schemes that match them perfectly. The pair you see above comes from the Instagram account of gentry187, and is a pretty awesome way to do up a pair of Nike Air Force 1s as a tribute to Wolverine.

If you want to see more, you should head on over to Sole Collector, which has an incredible top 10 gallery of Nike iD super hero designs from around Instagram. Plenty of Marvel and DC super heroes and villains await.
It just goes to show you that while the companies who serve up our favorite costumed characters do a pretty nice job of making sure we have all the merchandise we can handle, sometimes it’s better to simply take matters into your own hands.
