‘Batman v Superman’ Started with One Line

Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder revealed last year at Comic-Con that it was his brainstorming with WB officials that scrapped Man of Steel 2 for a universe-launching crossover. In a recent interview he let it slip that it was a single line he spoke to writer David Goyer and producer Christopher Nolan that lead to the film we’re getting next March.

"I said ‘what about at the end of the movie we do a scene where there’s a crate full of Kryptonite delivered to Wayne Manor?"

How did the others involved respond?

"Everyone was like… ‘okaay’. Once you say it out loud, it’s a problem, because you can’t unsay it."

Snyder’s problem has rarely been with concept or abstract thinking (except for Sucker Punch. *shudder*). Where he often falls short is in execution. But if he’s got enough talent around him to reign him in he might just pull this off. Let’s hope he delivers a Dawn of the Dead instead of Man of Steel.
