Ant-Man News Report Features A Familiar Face From The MCU
By Steve Lam
As the release date of Ant-Man quickly approaches, Marvel Studios has stepped up its viral marketing efforts. In a new video, we’re treated to a news broadcast from WHIH World News which helps to connect Ant-Man to the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The anchorwoman is someone who’s been there since the beginning when Iron Man (2008) launched the universe. She’s none other than Christine Everhart, played by the talented Leslie Bibb. Fans will remember Christine as the ambitious hard-hitting reporter who tries to get an interview with Tony Stark, but is quickly seduced by his charms.
Marvel Studios certainly knows how to make their universe as realistic as possible. In addition to the video, the studio has also set up a Twitter feed which updates its followers with the latest and greatest happenings in the MCU.
Set to release in the United States on July 17, 2015, Ant-Man will close out Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The film is being directed by Peyton Reed, written by Gabriel Ferrari, Andrew Barrer, and Adam McKay, and starring Paul Rudd as Scott Lang / Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Corey Stoll as Darren Cross / Yellowjacket, Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Michael Peña as Luis, Judy Greer as Maggie, Tip “T.I.” Harris as Dave, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Wood Harris as Gale, Jordi Mollà as Castillo, and Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym / Ant-Man.
