New Fear The Walking Dead Teaser Shows A Good Swim Spoiled

(With all due respect to John Feinstein for inspiring the title of this post.)

The Walking Dead is scary enough with its grim and super detailed look at like after a zombie apocalypse, but its spinoff series Fear the Walking Dead might be able to tap into an even more frightening part of the original outbreak: the early days, when the rules aren’t clearly understood and no one really knows what’s going on.

In other clips, we’ve seen people theorizing that people are missing work or school because of illness and witnessed a proliferation of “Missing” posters. In the clip below, we see that even after the walkers start rising, folks are probably going to be living out their normal routines — in this case, catching some rays while floating in a pool. The phrase “blissfully unaware” probably applies here, though by the looks of it, not for long.

It’s also striking the perfect tone for the series premiere of Fear the Walking Dead, which is scheduled to hit AMC in August. Nothing like a little summertime terror!

We should know more about the series and possibly even a specific premiere date after Comic-Con later this week. In the meantime, enjoy this teaser, and be on the lookout for more.
