In an interview promoting SyFy’s Bitten, The CW’s past Smallville Supergirl actress Laura Vandervoort was able to divulge some teases to Entertainment Weekly about her involvement in CBS’s new Supergirl series.  At 1:48, the interviewer asks Vandervoort about her thoughts on the new Supergirl and what she thinks about making a special appearance.  Vandervoort dropped some positive hints by saying “Hopefully I get to be a part of it at some point. Which is looking good … Maybe.”  Check out the full interview at Entertainment Weekly.

CBS’s Supergirl already has cast that were involved in the “Super” franchise in some way or another.  Dean Cain, who played Clark Kent / Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and Helen Slater, who played Kara Zor-El / Supergirl in Supergirl (1984), will be playing foster parents to Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl when CBS’s newest superhero series starts.

Laura Vandervoort played Kara Zor-El / Supergirl in The CW’s Smallville from 2007 to 2011.  This incarnation of the character has been the closest to the comics — that of being Kal-El’s / Superman’s cousin who was supposed to have been his guardian, but a mishap left her in stasis for many years.  When she awakens and finds that her once infant cousin is now a powerful hero, she must find a new purpose.

CBS’s Supergirl is set to premiere on October 26, 2015.  The series was developed by Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler, and Andrew Kreisberg, and will star Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El / Kara Danvers / Supergirl, Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, and Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers.  Laura Benanti will having a recurring role as Alural Zore-El.  Guest stars will include Jeremy Jordan as Winslow “Winn” Schott, Helen Slater as Eliza Danvers, Dean Cain as Jeremiah Danvers, Faran Tahir as The Commander, and Owan Yeoman as Vartox.
