At Comic-Con International, IGN was able to talk to Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada.  In their 10-minute discussion, Quesada commented on the new Spider-Man suit that Tom Holland will be wearing.  Quesada’s exact words were “It looks awesome!”

When IGN tried to pull more information about what the suit looked like and what devices Spider-Man would be sporting — web-shooters — Quesada quickly picked up what the interviewer was trying to do.  He told IGN that they will have to wait for Marvel’s announcement and that he wasn’t going to give anything away.

Spider-Man news has been getting hot ever since the announcement of John Watts as the director, and Tom Holland being cast in the role of the famous web-slinger.  Just this week, Marisa Tomei was confirmed to have won the role of Aunt May.  Reactions to her casting have been mixed due to her looking so young, as the actresses (more recent portrayals by Rosemary Harris in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man film series, and Sally Field in Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man film series) who have played her in past incarnations were much older — mirroring the character in the comics.

A joint endeavor between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, Spider-Man will finally be seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — something that fans have been wanting for a very long time.  Our favorite web-head will be making his debut in a cameo in Captain America: Civil War which is slated for a release date of May 6, 2016.  Spider-Man’s rebooted solo film is set for a release date of July 28, 2017.
