Comic-Con 2015: First Suicide Squad Trailer Leaked
By Steve Lam
Either Warner Bros. has the worst security out of all the studios, or is just a genius in marketing (making people hunger for what they can’t have), another one of their trailers has leaked. This time, it’s the highly anticipated Suicide Squad.
The trailer sets the perfect tone of showing a much darker side to the DC universe and one that is also morally ambiguous. The scenes of Harley Quinn look great, as Margot Robbie has fully immersed herself into the character. From the short scenes, every player does a good job at playing their respective roles. I know, the big question is “How’s Jared Leto’s Joker?” From his brief appearances, I can say that it’s different from every other live-action incarnation we’ve encountered. I do feel that his voice pays homage to the Joker seen in DC’s animated universe.

Suicide Squad has a United States release date of August 5, 2016, and will be part of DC’s new shared universe of films which started with Man of Steel (2013) and will include the upcoming highly anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Suicide Squad is being written and directed by David Ayer, and the current confirmed cast includes Jared Leto as The Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Will Smith as Deadshot, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.
