WARNING: The panel contains strong language
Deadpool is highly anticipated as it is the only modern Marvel film with a hard-R rating. Fans attending the Deadpool Hall H panel were elated when they saw the uncompromising trailer which brought their favorite anti-hero to life. Though the trailer was only for the attendees of the panel, it was soon leaked online. The overall comic book community have embraced the footage and gave it an overwhelmingly positive review.
Deadpool will be within the same universe as the X-Men franchise. The character of Wade Wilson was first introduced in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) before his disfigurement. For a couple of years, fans had been lobbying for a Deadpool solo film. The news of Ryan Reynolds reprising his role was welcomed. The film wrapped up filming in May and is well into the post-production process.
Deadpool will be released on February 12, 2016. The film will be directed by Blur Films visual effects veteran Tim Miller, written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and produced by Lauren Shuler Donner and X-Men: Days of Future Past screenwriter Simon Kinberg. The cast includes Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson / Deadpool, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Ed Skrein as Ridge, Morena Baccarin as Copycat, aka Vanessa Carlysle, and Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
