Comic-Con 2015: Fantastic Four Hall H Panel
By Steve Lam
Via Flicks and the City, the Fantastic Four Hall H panel has been recorded and released. In attendance were director Josh Trank, producer Simon Kinberg, Michael B. Jordan, Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, and Toby Kebbell.
The Fantastic Four were previously brought to life in Fantastic Four (2005) and its sequel, Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007). Even though both films were considered semi-commercial successes, they were derided by critics and fans. Chris Evans — who played Johnny Storm / The Human Torch in these two films — went on to win the role of Steve Rogers / Captain America in the highly successful Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Fantastic Four – Official Synopsis: a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
Fantastic Four has a United States release date of Friday, August 7, 2015. It is directed by Josh Trank, written by Simon Kinberg and Jeremy Slater from a story by Jeremy Slater and Josh Trank, and stars Miles Teller as Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic, Kate Mara as Susan Storm / The Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm / The Human Torch, Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm / The Thing, Toby Kebbell as Victor Domashev / Dr. Doom, Reg E. Cathey as Dr. Franklin Storm, and Tim Blake Nelson as Harvel Elder.
