New Desert Batsuit Looks Familiar…

Batman v Superman news keeps rolling out after Comic-Con, and today is no different. Today we got a glimpse of a new Batsuit that had been teased in the trailer we saw in Hall H.

Not surprisingly, this suit looks pretty familiar.
This is a statue based on the Batsuit in JSA: Liberty Files, a steampunk re imagining of the Justice League.

"The books were originally written as two separate two-issue stories; JSA: The Liberty File in 2000 and a sequel, JSA: The Unholy Three in 2003. They were published as a single volume collection in 2004. In 2012, an additional sequel entitled JSA: The Liberty Files – The Whistling Skull debuted, again with Tony Harris, and featuring B. Clay Moore as the writer. The series was created as part of DC’s Elseworlds line; stories that are considered non-canonical. This series was based on characters from the Justice Society of America but portrayed them as covert government operatives in a World War II-era setting, rather than their traditional portrayal as superheroes fighting criminals. -DC Wikia"

Just like with the Mech suit, Zack Snyder seems to have borrowed heavily from different aesthetics in the comics. That’s not a bad thing necessarily. It worked for Iron Man. AS long as it doesn’t get out of hand for marketing purposes.

This suit appeared to be designed for some sort of desert scene in the film, where Batman gets captured by armed storm troopers that use Superman’s logo as a sign of authority.
