The Flash: New Suit For Season 2 Officially Revealed

Thanks to the miracle of time travel, we’ve already seen that Barry Allen will end up wearing a costume on The Flash that looks more like the one he’s famous for in the comics. Specifically, it will have a white background to the iconic lightning bolt logo, as opposed to the red circle that adorned his Season 1 suit.

Visitors to Comic-Con got to see that costume in person, but DC and The CW made it official today by revealing an image of Grant Gustin wearing a more comics-accurate suit that he’ll sport in Season 2.

Except for the logo, it looks pretty much unchanged, with red gloves and gold trim that kind of look like lightning bolts. It’s possible the costume will continue to be a work in progress, as the Flash from the future that Barry runs into during the season finale and is pictured in Harrison Wells’ future newspaper also appears to be a brighter shade of red, suggesting that Barry will continue to work toward the suit we know from Silver Age comics as the series goes on.

The official DC blog reminds us that Cisco Ramon already mentioned the Flash emblem as a place for potential tinkering, and we’d have to think that the resident S.T.A.R. Labs gadget expert has a hand in this redesign. We’ll find out on Tuesday, October 7, when The Flash returns for Season 2 with “The Man Who Saved Central City.”
