Batman V Superman: New Images Give Context To Trailer Scenes
By Steve Lam
Following up on the public reveal of its September 2015 cover dedicated to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Empire has released three more images that give some context to the scenes we’ve seen in the trailers.
We’ve seen Batman fight Superman, but our assumptions were that it was somewhere in a random building in Metropolis or Gotham City. With a new image of Superman standing inside of a burned out, dilapidated Wayne Manor, it seems that the Man of Steel seeks out the Dark Knight. I guess Batman isn’t the only detective in this film.
For people who saw the special scene during the IMAX trailer event, this image also helps to place the location of Batman and Superman in their impending clash. For those who didn’t see it, here’s an animated gif showing the scene.
In another image, we get a new angle of Batman standing next to the Bat-Signal. This might be Batman’s way of calling out Superman, initiating a confrontation when Superman comes looking for him. We also get good look at the construction of his helmet.
And finally, we have Lex Luthor with his long locks, standing in the middle of his company gym. His fashion and demeanor are much more youthful than the past Luthors we’ve seen.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – Official Synopsis: Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has a United States release date of March 25, 2016. It will be directed by Zack Snyder, written by Chris Terrio from a story by David Goyer and Zack Snyder, and will star Henry Cavill as Clark Kent / Superman, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne / Batman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Tao Okamoto as Mercy Graves, Holly Hunter as a United States Senator, Ray Fisher as Victor Stone / Cyborg, and Callan Mulvey, Scoot McNairy, and Jena Malone in unspecified roles.
