3. Fantastic Four #48-50
The top 3 on this list are truly iconic, not only within the Fantastic Four continuum but in all of Marvel comics. First, let’s talk about issues #48-50. These are issues that brings us not only the aforementioned Galactus, but the iconic Silver Surfer and the mysterious and powerful Watcher. Galactus is coming to Earth to feed and has sent his herald, the Silver Surfer, ahead to prepare the planet. This is the first Marvel story that really gives fans a taste of the notion of cosmic entities and opens up the Marvel Universe to a near-infinite number of directions it could go. The Fantastic Four have continued to expand the universe during their adventures, but this is the one that started it.
