Arrow: Parker Young Joins Cast As New Love Interest For Thea Queen
By Nick Tylwalk
Thea Queen had an eventful Season 3 on Arrow. Though she had to say goodbye to the closest thing she’s had to a soulmate in Roy Harper, she did inherit his snazzy red costume and arsenal (pun intended) of weapons to help Team Arrow safeguard Starling City. She also got the training needed to handle them from dear old dad, Malcolm Merlyn, and it seems the writers and producers are going to give her heart a break as well.

From Entertainment Tonight comes the exclusive news that Parker Young has signed on for Season 4 in a part described as a “meaty recurring role.” His character’s name is Alex Davis, and while ET hints at mixing business and pleasure (something Thea has already done with Roy, who used to work for her at Verdant once upon a time, you have to wonder if that means actual business or her after-hour activities as Speedy.
Young is a 26-year old from Arizona, and has a mix of TV and movie credits on his acting resume so far. His steadiest gig to date was his recurring role as Ryan Shay on the ABC series Suburgatory, which ran for three seasons.
As much as it would be nice for Thea to have someone stable in her romantic life, her last attempt at a fling didn’t go so well — the guy turned out to be a plant from the League of Assassins — so you’d assume she’ll be a little more careful with her heart. We’ll get to see how she tries to open again when Arrow pulls the string back on Season 4 on Wednesday, October 8.
