Daredevil: Season 2 Promo Shows Boxed Suit
By Steve Lam
To remind fans that Season 2 of Netflix’s Daredevil is on its way, the show’s Instagram feed sent out a new promo image showing Matt Murdock’s red suit stored away in a wooden box. It seems he hasn’t done the usual “superhero” method of storing suits — placing them on a mannequin until they’re needed. You know, it just looks way cooler that way. Just ask Batman and Green Arrow.
The suit seems to be unchanged from the end of Season 1 which delighted fans who wanted to see the familiar red garb. But one thing was still missing — the classic “DD” insignia. Well, maybe they’ll get that in Season 2. This is, after all, Daredevil’s origin story, so expect the character and his arsenal to evolve and mature.
Season 2 of Netflix’s Daredevil is being executive produced by Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez, replacing previous showrunner Steven S. DeKnight. Both Petrie and Ramirez also served as writers for the first season. Confirmed returning cast members are Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil, Elden Henson as Franklin “Foggie” Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple. Jon Bernthal and Elodie Yung join the series as Frank Castle / The Punisher and Elektra Natchios, respectively. Bullseye is slated to appear, but has not been cast yet.
Daredevil is one of four Marvel/Netflix shows centered around events taking place in Hell’s Kitchen. The other three will be Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones. Like the cinematic universe, all four characters from each show will later converge together in a miniseries event called The Defenders — another superhero team akin to The Avengers.
Daredevil Season 2 is set to premiere sometime in 2016.
