Rumor: Spider-Man Details For Captain America: Civil War
By Steve Lam
Since the announcement that our favorite web-head will be making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Captain America: Civil War, fans have been speculating everything from his suit to his involvement in the rivalry between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. Via Latino-Review, we have some rumors on Spider-Man details for the upcoming 2016 blockbuster. The site reports these eyebrow-raising plot points:
- The Iron Spider suit will not be appearing in the film.
- Spider-Man’s web-shooters will be created by Tony Stark.
The first rumor may not be too surprising to fans, as it’s too soon for Peter Parker to acquire an upgraded suit when he hasn’t even gotten his traditional one yet. Although in the comics, he did have the Iron Spider suit when he joined forces with Tony’s side, and then went back to his original suit when he switched to Steve’s anti-registration side.
However, the second rumor may be considered blasphemous to fans. Tony creating Spider-Man’s most iconic tech? I think I’m not alone when I say that one of the things that make Spider-Man … well uh … Spider-Man is that he has the ingenuity and creativity to create his own gadgets.
As for now, we should take all of this with a heavy grain of salt and trust that Kevin Feige and company will make the right decisions when they bring Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
