Dragon Con 2015: Deadpool Conga Line

Dragon Con 2015 was this past Labor Day Weekend, and I was fortunate enough to attend on behalf of Bam Smack Pow. As I was waiting for a press conference, an impromptu conga line of Deadpool cosplayers passed in front of where I was sitting, and luckily I had my camera at hand and caught some photos of them. Unfortunately, many of the photos are a bit blurry as the Deadpools were dancing past so quickly.

It started out much like the photo above, we noticed a few Deadpool cosplayers going by. But pretty soon there was a ridiculously  long line of them, in every shape and size; men, women and even a couple children, dancing by and singing “Deadpool, Deadpool, Deadpool” to the tune of “Olé, Olé, Olé.” There was an Adventure Time Deadpool, a One Piece Deadpool, and even a Doctor Who Deadpool.

That above is a female Deadpool with an inflatable llama on her head carrying a rubber chicken, and a young child Deadpool carrying a rifle with a decapitated unicorn head at the end.

At one point the Deadpools pulled a couple other Marvel characters into the line, like this Santa Deadpool and baseball cap-wearing Deadpool who pulled a Black Widow in front of them in the conga line.

After the end of the conga line went by, we noticed that the line had come around behind us and was heading up the escalator. At that point, someone in the crowd started trolling them by calling the Deadpools Spider Man. In response, the cosplayers began shouting “Deadpool, Deadpool, Deadpool,” this time without the song.

You never know what you’re going to see when attending a con, and I’m so happy that I was in the right place at the right time to witness this amusing display. Dragon Con was quite the fun experience, with lots of fun things to do for geeks and nerds of every kind. Check back with Bam Smack Pow for more coverage of Dragon Con 2015!
