Agents Of SHIELD Synopsis – Season 3, Episode 1: Laws Of Nature

We’re getting close to the Agents of SHIELD Season 3 premiere. Two weeks close, to be exact, which is near enough that ABC has sent out the official synopsis to the first episode of the new season.

Titled “Laws of Nature,” the Season 3 premiere sounds as if it will jump us right into the race between SHIELD and another organization to track down super-powered individuals — especially emerging Inhumans, who have been popping up all over after the events from last spring’s season finale.

We’ll also officially say goodbye to Skye as it’s Agent Daisy Johnson (or Quake, I’m sure) from here on out. Check out the synopsis:

"“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” returns for an action-packed third season on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network, with Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and Agent Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet) leading the charge as S.H.I.E.L.D. searches the world for more powered people in the aftermath of their epic battle with Jiaying and her army of Inhumans. However, Coulson and the team soon find out that they are not the only group looking for these new Inhumans. On the season premiere episode, “Laws of Nature,” when Coulson and the team discover a new Inhuman, S.H.I.E.L.D. comes face to face with another organization searching for powered people. And still reeling from Simmons’ dramatic disappearance, Fitz goes to extreme lengths to try to learn how to get her back."

It’s good to know that the fate of Simmons will be a primary consideration in the first new episode, though you wonder if other members of the team think she must be dead and only Fitz is left refusing to give up hope. That’s kind of cliche and yet perfectly within character for him at the same time.

Another highlight should be the debut of Constance Zimmer, star of UnREAL, as Rosalind Price, head of the opposing organization referred to in the synopsis. She’s not a character from the comics, and it’s almost guaranteed to be fun when she gets a chance to trade barbs with Gregg’s Director Coulson — who hopefully has a new hand to replace the one he lost last season.

We’ll have full coverage of Agents of SHIELD right here as always, including Christina Lazzara (who spent her time in-between seasons getting married) giving us her always entertaining recaps and think pieces. The 29th can’t get here soon enough.
