After almost five months of waiting, it’s finally here — the Season 2 premiere of Fox’s Gotham.  The last time we visited this harrowing city, James Gordon was slowly spinning towards the dark side by making various Faustian bargains with Oswald Cobblepot; Barbara Keane – totally brainwashed by the Ogre –  murdered her parents; Bruce and Alfred discovered a passage to a cave in Thomas’s study; Fish Mooney fell to her supposed death; and our friend Oswald was making his final ascent to power.  Those were just the major players.  Many things were also happening with our minor characters — from Leslie Thompkins to Edward Nygma.  However, our Season 1 Wrap-up can better cover those.

This season seems to also have a theme — Rise of the Villains.  We’re not sure if this will be a standard going forward with future seasons, but my hope is that if this helps to focus the story much better, then more power to them.  I’m going to keep an open mind and hope that Gotham‘s sophomore will give us some better writing.
