Season 2 of Gotham premiered last week with Rise of the Villains: Damned If You Do … After a montage reviewing the post-one-month happenings of the lives of our characters, we went into Jim Gordon’s latest predicament — being demoted, again, to a traffic cop. Soon, a frustrated interaction with a new colleague has Jim ending up losing his job and making another deal with the Penguin to get it back.
Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne and Alfred, after much debate, break into Thomas Wayne’s secret cave. In it, Bruce discovers a letter addressed to him from his father. The heartfelt message implores Bruce to choose happiness over the truth.
Other happenings had us seeing Barbara Kean fully embrace her dark side, and the introductions of Theo Galavan and his sister Tabitha, a.k.a. Tigress.
This week’s episode promises to be one that focuses on the villains gripping Gotham City in fear and coming into power. Most readers will know my current assessment of this debacle of a show, but if this is the direction they want to take it, then so be it. Here’s the official synopsis for Rise of the Villains: Knock, Knock:
"Following his reinstatement, Gordon is thrust onto the high-profile case tracking the deadly inmate escape from Arkham Asylum. Meanwhile, Galavan plans his next move, while Bruce enlists the help of his father’s old friend to unlock the secrets in his office, and Nygma attempts to ask out Kristin Kringle (guest star Chelsea Spack) on a date in the all-new “Rise of the Villains: Knock, Knock” episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, Sept. 28 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX."
And, of course, the promo for the episode:
Enjoy this week’s new episode, and check back with us on Tuesday morning for our full recap and review.
Fox’s Gotham airs on Mondays at 8:00PM EST.
