Gotham: Pee Wee Herman To Play Penguin’s Father
Daddy’s coming home! We know plenty about the somewhat twisted relationship between Penguin, aka Oswald Cobblepot and his mother Gertrude in the TV show Gotham. But his father hasn’t been mentioned much if at all. But it seems that Mr. Cobblepot will be coming to Gotham, and be played by actor Paul Reubens, best known for his work as Pee Wee Herman.

Robin Lord Taylor revealed the news at this weekend’s New York Comic Con during a lengthy panel focused on DC TV Shows:
"We just found out that I do have a father and he will be showing up very soon, and he will be played by none other than PAUL REUBENS! AKA PEE-WEE HERMAN, IS PLAYING MY DAD! What the hell! Oh my god!"
No word on when exactly Paul Reubens will be showing up on Gotham or if he will be a recurring character. This may be dissapointing to those who were hoping for a fantasy casting of Danny Devito, who played the Penguin in Batman Returns, but this may be the next best thing. Paul Reubens did play Penguin’s father in Batman Returns, so it’s a nice bit of fan service on the part of Gotham.
