Danger, Xorn and Colossus

Anyone can cosplay as characters from X-Men lore, but this group provided a nice variety of different eras of mutant history. I was half tempted to call the guy in the foreground Skinny Colossus, but I’m not exactly Mr. Buff myself, and he deserves props for his commitment to both the comic book-accurate skin tone and that metal flattop.

For those of you who didn’t read Joss Whedon’s Astonishing X-Men, that’s Danger on the left, a.k.a. the team’s Danger Room come to life. That’s kind of the logical outcome when you stuff a bunch of human and alien technology into a simulator. Originally a villain, Danger later fought beside the X-Men and X-Factor.

Last but certainly not least, we have Xorn, a divisive character from Grant Morrison’s time with the X-Men. I won’t spoil the surprise if you’ve never read those arcs, but suffice it to say that Xorn wasn’t who he claimed to be, and was in fact someone much better known.
